They've discontinued the Playbook but surely they can build a better one, can't they? Or are they permanently giving up on tablets?

    I don't think they know.........HOW!

Three years on and they couldn't fix the first one so they just gave up. Probably better left alone at this stage. First one was a joke and there is no way they could compete on price point now. You'll see a giant phone first.

There is not a tablet for the forseeable future. Phablets is the current wave. I wish there was a tablet in the future.

I honestly hope not. The tablet market is a bunk business to get into unless you vast amounts of cash and don't mind peeing up a wall. To me, there is no tablet market. Just an iPad market and a 'I didn't want to spend the money on an iPad' market.

With FoxConn they probably could make a tablet but first the phones have to do well. The tablet would have to run essentially the same software as the phones. This would help to keep costs down.

Unless they produce them on demand, so you can just order them through their site, ok.

Other than that, no thanks, not another commercial failure with no marketing whatsoever.

They're struggling to stay afloat and relevant in the smartphone market as it is. It makes no sense for them to make another tablet right now.

The tablet market has advanced beyond the point where you can just use a smartphone OS and adapt it to a bigger screen. People know when your apps look like crap because they were designed for a phone and are simply magnified leaving you with huge buttons and an unnecessary number of screens.

And without a robust ecosystem there's no reason why someone with a Blackberry phone would gravitate towards a Blackberry tablet. Sharing emails and messages among your devices simply isn't that amazing. What's amazing is the ecosystem of content you can access with a tablet using a native app.

Magic 8 ball says ask again later.

If Blackberry is still around in three years and has managed to gain market share in the phone market they may consider it. We will not see a new Blackberry tablet in the next 18 months.

Appropriate to consult the magic eight ball since BlackBerry is behind the eight ball. Rack 'em up Professor.

But even if Blackberry were to release a new tablet, would anyone still even remotely care after the mess they made of the Playbook. Surely even here in Playbook fanboy central most must be convinced by now that Blackberry is shockingly incapable of producing AND supporting (both) a decent consumer tablet...
