With BBM going cross platform any chance that we would get BBM on the Playbook? It sure would be a good bone for us PB owners. Not sure what is involved but it would be great. Seeing as we can video chat already, one would think allowing us to connect with other platforms would be great!! Any thoughts on this?

Sure it will! You'll just have to d/l the android version, convert it, and sideload it. Honestly, it's anyone's guess at this point if a native BBM client is coming. Heck, seeing as BBRY has always talked about how easy it is to convert an android app to work on their devices, I wouldn't be surprised to see an android port show up in Blackberry World....

I would definitely like to see that happen. If it's becoming a cross platform app, why would BB not put it on it's own product? Be a nice, much anticipated wait most of BB PB users have been waiting for. Make it happen BB PLEASE!!!

Maybe an android port? How ironic would that be?

Talk about ignoring the elephant in the room. When BBM goes cross platform. The company cannot ignore the existence of PlayBook even if it's EOL. To not have BBM on playbook is like ipad and ipod touch not have imessage. It's a reflection of the company's commitment to it's own products. I personally will keep reminding them until they close down. That will be one of the reason the company fail.

Bus as you say, the PB is EoL, a dead product, it has ceased to be...why, unless it's extremely quick and easy, would they waste time effort and money doing it?

we all know that the Android version of BBM will require Android 4.0, the PlayBook runs 2.3 Android player...

Not until the company take the product off it's official website. Until then it's still a current products offered by the company.

The initial offering for bbm cross platform is to place it on phones, it is my understanding, sad as it is, that wifi only devices aren't included. They should be, I think that would seal it for BBM . If they do happen t drop a desktop version on launch it would again seal the steal for bbm, and that would likely then make it available on the PlayBook via the browser. I would be happy with that.

One that they have said isn't going to get any new features or major updates. I've had one myself since launch, but, despite the nice hardware, it's gone nowhere since 2.0 was launched and I can't see that changing.

Nope. The simple reason is that the PB doesn't have the required Android Runtime to allow a sideloaded version to work.
