Ahh - so I must be imagining the ones I have on mine. And the 10s of thousands in app world, I imagine as well. As for its "outdated tech", the specs are roughly comparable to the biggest selling tablet on the market at the moment ... the iPad Mini. So not really convinced its 'tech' gets in the way of it doing key tasks that people want.
Gotta love forums - where people exaggerate.
Old news man. It's had email for over a year now. What's next. "Stupid iPhone. Couldn't copy and paste when it came out in 2007!", no email client at launch
How is the PlayBook "outdated"? Performs as good as any tab on the market and arguably better. Much better.
It was important. It's not at all now.
In order not to **** us off, since after all we are customers, they'll indeed issue a PB version of BB10 (which will be disadapted given our screensize -one already start seeing apps with incredibly huge character sizes for instance). That's all we'll have, and is not so bad, this is basically the only reason we see new apps coming nowadays. I definitely won't upgrade early anyhow -I have far too much android apps to risk there...
Its still selling at currys in the UK so it is still a current product so they will update. Its just a matter of when.
Additionally as far as bridge is concerned I personally think this will improve with the pb update.
BlackBerry 10 tablet to be unveiled later this year; PlayBook to get the BB10 update
No date given on either the PB update to BB10, or the "New BB10 Playbook", but FYI.
I kind of wish they go the Apple route on this one (by not changing the design), the form factor of the PlayBook in my opinion is flawless, 7 inch display, the ports are all on the bottom, nice speakers on the FRONT of the device (why hasn't anyone else done this I don't know, apparently it's design > logic these days) The buttons are all up top in the middle, so you could use the right or left hand to access them. LED notification and both cameras are in excellent positions. The whole look is so understated but yet ideal for the 7 inch form factor.
I'm quite happy with my PlayBook and don't find myself yearning for apps I can't find at BlackBerry World. There maybe some I could use but none come to mind at the moment. I'm looking forward to the BB10 update, aren't we all, and the new PlayBook. My plan is to get the new model and give the one I have to my son. He thinks it's great, he's got an Ipad and prefers the PlayBook. .
