I do not need it, have the wifi version but I was curious about the 4G version and try to see where I can find it. Well it is more difficult than I thought and the only one I found on ebay the guy is asking over $500 bucks for the 32GB. I was laughing to myself. Does RIM only made few of the 4G version and that's why are so difficult to find it?

Yes they only made a few and because they were 4G they were mostly Carrier devices....

Anyone that still has stock, knows that there is still a "market" for these with businesses that were early adopters and need to provide replacements and will still pay full price. Don't think the PlayBook has ever officially been EOL.... but unofficially they are hard to find.

Normal people are going to go with a newer tablet that is cheaper, more powerful, has an ecosystem and is UPGRADEABLE.

Yeah, it was a weird rollout. I don't believe any carrier in the US ever offered it. It does have slightly better processor specs.

Thank you guys, wow BlackBerry really screwed the playbook 4G to the ground. They could had a healthy sale if they release it to many carriers and in the US as well.

I was part of a group, and sorry can't help with ordering, neighbor works with someone who's boyfriend works for Rim. They were also offering the Z10 a while ago at some silly low price but I was interested in the Q10 which wasn't as good a deal $400 I think. I got one on Kijiji for $400 unlocked ,no tax or shipping. Good luck, I'm sure there is someone out there with a connection with Blackberry. By the way the order was upped to 15 all have been received. I haven't managed to get the SIM tray open yet and am currently thinking why bother when I can just Bridge to the Q10 if required.

I found a 4g LTE PlayBook on Kijiji last week. A lady had bought it through a BlackBerry employee and when she realized it didn't do Netflix, listed it on Kijiji. It was new and never booted before, $100.

The LTE versions are a bit quicker than the wifi and at $100, worth the upgrade.

Interesting ... so as there is no longer any official OS upgrades and since carriers may make changes to their networks, BB is sealing the sim card door on the clearance 4G PlayBooks they sell to employees. So guess anyone is just buying them for the slightly faster 1.5 Ghz chip.
Robsteve, I agree you got a good deal at $100 bucks.

I forgot to mention that mine was new, in full retail packaging. The SIM tray was not sealed and it must be unlocked, as it works with both our Rogers and Bell SIMs.

I'd be potentially interested in one for $100. Would have snap-purchased one at $59.

I have looked for one here in the UK before. As others have said they rarely pop up. The last was for about 200

For the 4G variant I believe they only made them in 32Gb models.
