I can agree with most. Said it before and will say it again. RIM f'd it up by thinking they had to jump in feet first without looking. Never should've advertised to the mainstream until it was much closer to being ready. Can they rectify what they have done, I don't know. But we will see.
Yep. Lots of trolls in this thread.
"Hatred" in the thread title and what shows up to post?
Damn but this PB is one fine device. Thanks RIM for providing a superior device. The bridge is so clever and the UI so slick. The OS is tops in the tablet space.
Thanks for posting those links again. The results are not as clear cut in favor of the pb as some have suggested:
---------------------------
Would you still recommend a Playbook to your family or friends?
YES: 148 46.54%
NO: 170 53.46%
--------------------------
Would you still recommend a playbook to your family or friends?
Yes 114 65.52%
No 60 34.48%
--------------------------
If your Playbook were lost or stolen, would you:
buy a replacement Playbook 166 57.24%
buy a different tablet 71 24.48%
not buy any tablet | save the money for something else 53 18.28%
-------------------------
Yes, some point at the polls and say they show support but if there is questionable support, then blame voters who should not have been permitted to vote.
And as mentioned, the market seems to have spoken. Yes, I know Porsche sells fewer cars than Ford but Porsche plans to sell fewer cars.
Do not get me wrong, I would really like the pb to be a successful niche product but that will take more effort than rim has so far provided. They need to do more to entice developers of prime apps. Invest a bit in developers to get back a return on the investment. And I don't mean a few free pb's. Go to the big players and play with them. Use whatever pull they have on the Docs-to-go folks and improve that product and do the same for the adobe reader.
I was only pointing out that since it was said the results would be favorable because this is a bb fan site that while it is it is also mobile nations and host forums for every competing device. So anyone that is here for those sections can also vote.
Does Ford have sub forums for Chevy, Chrysler etc? Does tipb or whatever it is have sub forums for android and blackberry? Does Maytag have sub forums for GE or Frigidair?
now this i agree with. i was just pointing out that not all apps are useless like u had orininally implied. but yes, on a personal level most can be useless, just not to everyone.
wow. this is a crazy thread. funny, informative, and sad all rolled into one. :D
I doubt the majority of Android, WP, or iOS users even care the BB section exists. I, for one, has never visited the other sections.
But again, the most undeniable poll is the market poll. You canNOT blame it for being biased or inaccurate. It is what it is.
Has to be the funniest thing I've ever read on here. How long have you been around? What are sporting for a device?
Beta Max was superior to VHS but the prono industry settled that one. The market isn't always right but the market does have the final say right or wrong.
For instance, had the ifad been released after roid pads and the PB, it would hage been pilloried for its lack of access to basic web content. What we have is not a tablet market but an ifad market. People will settle for less if it is viewed as the only option. I was and early apple user and still appreciate its UI compared to Windows but I made the decision to go PC back in the day because there was more support and momentum behind that platform. Windows wasn't better but it was more successful. Apple almost went out of business despite its better offering.
Not sure what's so funny about what I wrote and why the length of me being around is relevant. If polls are a tool to gauge how great of a device the Playbook is and its success, then they are unnecessary as there are much more accurate and unbiased indicators, which will for sure be better than polls on a fan site. With the market "poll", you don't have to make excuses such as "it's people from the Android/WP/iOS forums that bias the polls".
beta max
microsoft kin
hp touchpad
want to continue?
Couldn't agree with you more.
And this is the whole point of my starting this thread! We can discuss, share, agree, disagree, agree to disagree, disagree to agree, and state our various personal opinions, without getting all bent out of shape. And at the same time we are sharing information!
That's the whole point of a forum!!
At the end of the day, everything is relative. What works for me might not work for you, but still, the world continues to turn!
So, what Blackberry devices do you use, or used?
I recall when Crackberry started adding those other device forums, thinking it was kind of odd. But at the same time involved more planning for the future than Rim has done. Kevin/Crackberry knew that limiting the forum solely to coverage of the BB phones would in time prove to be limiting. I would call it prescient. Just providing what customers (of Crackberry) demand and not forcing everyone into the Rim-pigeon-hole.
I completely agree. It just might be like a lot of other forums without it, boring.
I do enjoy the banter and opinions what I do not like is the name calling and bashing.
Note to self: do not feed the troll.
...and just now you're catching on? I asked him to delete a few posts that were not appropriate to my thread, and all I've gotten was the Sound of Crickets. Quite the contrarion that one.
How long someone has "been around" is irrelevant. The numbers do speak for themselves, whether we're talking about numbers of devices being sold or percentages of PB owners who would recommend the device. And, yes, it's also true that most iPad owners are not even aware of this PB debate. In fact, most 10" tablet owners don't pay much attention to 7" tablets--this is a niche market--so, the debate is at least two steps removed from where most tablet owners are standing.
I just keep wondering then why in the world do these ipads and droid owners come and troll our PB forums........
How long someone is around in these CB forums is relevant from how much do they contribute,do they just sign up to come and bash the PB and troll big time, or have they made an effort to go and post on other threads to help and assist newbies with their devices..... all that I have seen some posters showed up and 99% of all their posts are in threads that deal with PB bashing......... and these are classic examples of trolls- paid or unpaid.
OK, how long only meant how long have they been reading this forum not how many post they have. I could give a rats a about number of post. Crackberry could take everyone of mine away from my count and it wouldn't matter to me.
I admit the majority of them don't come into these sections but the vocal minority are well.... very vocal.
Most everything on here is opinion anyway. Heck there are many that think any tablet is worthless.
Oh, I see. Your little witch hunt just had another turn. Now, trolls are not only those who are negative about the Playbook, but also those who digress from the thread topic. And I assume, you have never digressed? :)
Doesn't change a thing. My point is that the polls here are absolutely worthless and unnecessary as we have a much superior information to rely on.
Yep polls are worthless. But this thread isn't about polls, it just got injected into it.
Just like p*nis envy there seems to be QNX envy. They can't be seen using a PB so nobody else should either.
