@Darlaten There should be no problem unless the codec is different, as I've played a 10GB movie once.
Also, I have seen many people asking about android movie player apps, and I hope more people can see this: the short answer is no, but for an explanation, read on.
Most, and the popular (in videos) android apps are built with the Android NDK, or use resources tied to that. The Playbook OS as of now does not support the NDK, and so the codecs supported by the playbook are the only ones playable; granted, there are players in the appstore that can play .FLAC and such, but in terms of videos there are none. (Not so sure about .flv player)

as far as i know mkv works fine, its the audio codecs that creates the problem.
ACC works fine but OGG, AC3, DTS is a no go. also subtitles dont work.
Would be great if RIM could license some codecs and put all opensource stuff in a new version
