Hi, need a new phone and those are my choices or a "gasp" android. Anyone have either phone and a playbook?
Does one work better then the other? I know the curve has less specs.
Thanks

Yep, I have a 9850 n i love the speed. Probably wouldn't notice that much of a difference with the curve....i think the Torch probably feels betta n the hand though. My Storm2 worked well with the Playbook but things got a lot faster with 0S7! Anyways, both will work well....njoy!
Thanks, hope to hear from someone with a curve too.
9850 is great. if you want a keyboard i would go with the bold 9930 over the curve. the 9850 is great when using bridge. Bridge seems to be better on os7 coming from os5. more reliable.

Carrier doesn't have the bold :(
Last week I upgraded to the Torch from my Tour and although I was concerned about losing the physical keyboard, I have to say it is a very slick device. I wanted a 9930, but I just couldn't wait for US Cellular to get it (if ever) and miss out on the $100 after rebate offer they have going on for smartphones this week (price matched Mon). Overall, I am very happy with it and find it very user friendly. Drastically different experience than my 8330 and the Tour. OS7 Is a big step in the right direction and I'm happy with my decision. I played around with the curve in store, but it just didn't feel very substantial when I held it. Too light and just felt cheap to me, not to mention the keys are too small for me to type comfortably. I have been pleasantly surprised with my typing experience with the Torch. If you had the time, I definitely recommend stopping in and playing around with one. I've had mine bridged only a couple of times and I've noticed a speed increase as well. Will put this to more use tomorrow at the inlaws... lol. Hope that helped some.
I have both and love them both :-)
Have the 9850 and PB64. Perfect combination when using Bridge or Tethering. I use Bridge 90% of the time to access all PIM apps. Use Tethering (on Verizon) when I want more bandwidth for streaming of video.
Highly recommend this combination. Wish RIM promoted such bundles; it would add perceived value to both.

Thanks all. Looks like I will probably get the torch if I like it.
I have a Torch and a PB32. No complaints. Both devices running rock solid and when paired the combo can't be beat!

Another 9850 + 16gb pb user here. I love the combination and flaunt it to my android and iphone buddies who have to pay for tethering! For me the pb sold me on going back to bb for a phone. I was a DROID x and galaxy tab user prior to this. I just couldn't stand the android open market and lack of security.

Same as a lot folks here. I have the Torch and pb. Love the combination and love each one separately. The Torch is fantastic. I upgraded from the Storm 1 (Which I actually liked) But the Torch is a tremendous leap forward. And what can I say about the PB, it's fantastic! Don't think you can go wrong with that combination.
Checking... Good combo... Love my Torch.
loving both but really wishing zinio was available and working for PB OS or Android player. use bridge non stop with minimal issues even with 2.0.
i have a Torch and a 64GB Playbook. i think its the 9800, the one with both a touchscreen and a keyboard. Everything works flawlessly.
No curves! Get a new carrier immediately! Bold is a minimum...even an old 9700
Ok fine Torch - just depends how much typing messaging you're going to do - keep in mind with 2.0 you may be using it to type on the playbook!
Sliding out the keyboard all the time I would find annoying
