I dont think there is existing stock as yet, all pre-order! I must say I wouldnt be buying one at those prices. I have a 64gb playbook which I paid 129 from Curry's. I use the wifi hot spot feature on my Bold 9900, and it works very well. This negates the need for 2 accounts, and you can also use the Bold as a remote control and keyboard

Fabulous, Fantastic RIM .... Mother of god! ...
they may lead me to iPad Mini but the last thing a non brain dead wants to deal with is iTunes and sell your soul to an eroded fruit PLUS lose all other BB/PB benefits

For whatever reason i dont have this Hot Spot function on my BB9900 and Bridge doesn't update the native e:mail client on the PB (Exchange) PLUS it is horribly slow for surfing the web
    BB9900 OS Ver is 7.0.0 Bundle 2395
Checked for updates here in ME as well as in Europe last week and got for both the message the device is up to date

    Anyways thanks for that

You dont have to have an official OS from your carrier on your phone. I would suggest, as Ben1232 pointed out, http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...00-uts-751161/ and here http://forums.crackberry.com/hybrid-...-7-1-a-752522/
And yes bluetooth will be slow, aka bridge mode

Yes i know, but thanks will do over the w/e..... and this OS contains the Hot Spot feature?

Is the Hot Spot connection (3G on the 9900) quicker than the PB bridged via BT?

if yes than this wld lead the 4G version almost ad absurdum? OK 3G isnt comparable with LTE but in my rubbish regions LTE wld never be available anyways and not even in Europe its nation wide available

No it runs fine, though a little warmer. you could try it with the 714 sfi file, which I did and it runs smooth and fast. Good battery life, runs cool too

a little warmer compared to what?
Mine is already running too hot for my taste, sometimes up to 38 deg...
e.g. at the moment with a room temp of 22 deg resting on the desk MeterBerry is showing 28 deg. w/o any activity the last 20 minutes.

can you tell me something with re to the speed PB connected to HotSpot vs Bridge?

    much appreciated

Im currently sitting at 18c... usually around 22c. Also it depends on use, and environment. The coolest OS I found is the 746 with the 714 sfi file,

    ok modem/router off.
3G network on phone, good signal
    Ran speed test through Speedtest.net
WiFi off on phone and playbook. Bridged 9900 to playbook via bluetooth - 1.33mb download, 0.48mb upload
Wifi on phone and playbook, bluetooth off, connected by hotspot - 6.24mb download, 1.21mb upload
I ran a speed test with phone, 3G to compare - 6.30mb download
