I recently purchased a new 16G Playbook on Amazon.com. During setup, the device would not recognize the wi-fi signal from my home Internet router; it would not recognize the public wi-fi signal at my university either. After perusing numerous help forums, I realized updating the operating system via Blackberry Desktop Manager should fix this issue. I did this but the issue persists. I tried registering the device on Blackberry.com via its serial number so I could contact Customer Support, but, while the serial number was recognized, my e-mail was not due to, presumably, purchasing the device from Amazon. Due to running out of options, I am returning the device to Amazon for a full refund. However, should I consider this specific device a dud and replace it? Should I order one from elsewhere instead? If so, where? I spent too many hours trying to make this thing work. Any help appreciated!

Same with Amazon. More than likely a random dud. I would exchange for a new unit. But I would suggest that you go with the 64 gb unit. You WILL fill it with music and movie.
My first PB 64gb is full with every cd I own ripped to lossless, and movie which I pump into mt audio/TV system with the HDMI cable and a Music Gateway. All controlled by my 9850 and Z30 thru BT.
My second unit 64 gb is assigned to nav and music into the headunit in my Ridgeline.

    Go for it!
