When is the PlayBook Arriving in South Africa???
- I had someone I know in the States buy one and ship it for me. I couldn't wait and I'm loving it, just wish the Bridge Browser were quicker. When I tether the normal browser is quite quick.
To answer your question... I suppose you would have to wait until July/August as South Africa is probably last in receiving new devices.05-29-11 02:18 PMLike 0 - I had someone I know in the States buy one and ship it for me. He was told that it would be available across all major networks from July, and that it would be available with BIS for R399p/m. So bleak that I wasn't able to get there today.
Not sure how legit all the info is, but sounds great.
Does anyone know how it can be available with BIS with wifi only?

What I do see happening, is networks offering the PlayBook along with Huawei E5838 MiFi modem for about that price with a 1Gig cap.05-29-11 03:07 PMLike 0 - Not a chance. You cannot get BIS without having a sim card in the device. The rep was probably confused and don't you think R399 is bit much for BIS?

How are you finding the bridge browser (is it as slow as a lot of folks say?) etc. I'm desperate for one, but am starting to consider waiting for the 3g/4g version. However if it runs fairly well of my bis contract (Vodacom), then hey, why wait?
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-29-11 03:16 PMLike 0 - The Bridge Browser is slow as **** and doesn't load the majority of the pics on a page. I find it really strange because the normal browser works quite well when I tether instead of bridge to my phone. Only problem is when I tether the phone goes into modem mode and I don't receive emails and BBMs.
I'm hoping that Bridge Browser and Bridge Files gets some serious attention with this much talked about future update. Email, Calender and BBM work like a charm for me though and I've not had any of the issues discussed in this forum.
I just find carrying around the MiFi modem a pain as it is another device I have to lug around.05-29-11 03:42 PMLike 0
