I liked my PlayBook, and it has been my regular Web browser and etext reader for a long time. But it is starting to show its age. Many websites run unacceptably slow in the native Web browser, and I have it running with Javascript disabled most of the time. Battery life is suffering. And the screen is too narrow for Web browsing anyway. If you were looking for a replacement, what tablet would offer decent performance at a good price? Thanks.

I got the Nexus 9 and I like it a lot. I mainly use it to stream media in my bedroom but it is a good tablet at a good price.

I've got a Micro Center Winbook TW802. It's running Windows 8.1 (don't much like Windows 10 on a tablet), with an 8 inch screen, Intel Baytrail quad-core, 2 gigs of RAM, 32 gigs internal storage plus a micro sd slot, HDMI, dual cameras, and two USB ports (one micro, one standard)----- $100. Paired with a $20 Netgear 341U USB modem from FreedomPop, I get a gig of free data per month. One more thing- it boots up in less than 30 seconds.
