Yeah for everything. This thing is great for on the go.
Kindle books (I have Beta OS2 on my Playbook and the Android Kindle reader works quite well). Playing music, either by itself with or without headphone, or over the car radio (I use one of those tape interfaces in the car). Streaming from Amazon, with HDMI output to TV. Surfing the Internet. Mail. Kids sometimes use my Playbook for games, but they prefer my larger Android tablet or someone else's iPad. I would use the Playbook as a backup GPS for the car, but, alas, the available software is not up to the job.
Really, what else can you use a tablet for? My view is still that a tablet is mainly a toy. But, I did just read a report saying that a slight majority of iPad users bought it for business usages (most were very satisfied); so I may be wrong. I considered using a tablet for working on documents via an external keyboard, but rejected the idea, as my Windows laptop is just so much better in every way for serious document work.
email, reading, games, finances, surfing the net, keeping a journal, twittering, etc.... i use my playbook constantly. i actually walk around the house with both my bb and playbook in hand, drives the mrs crazy.
Bbm browsing youtubing gaming on my led tv via hdmi camera video emailing music:)
I use mine for work; email, pdfs/ reading proposals , plans and installation manuals, making and sending invoices, doing inspections( notes and camera), I also load up any inspection videos we have for whatever job we are doing, really easy to watch on the PB a lot less hassle then having to pull out the laptop.
I haven't really settled on everything as I am still in the testing/playing process I tried the Magellan compass today for gps it work pretty good, not something I would use all of the time but in a jam it will do. I don't need turn by turn directions, I really prefer a paper map so being able to look at the screen and see where I am and route myself is perfect for me.
What I would really like is a Pdf maker/creator on the PB, using the web based pdf makers is a pain in the .
Is it heavy enough to keep the kids quiet?
every thing. it wakes up and helps me all through the day.
i want my pb to be my phone!
I use mine alot for work and play. It will become even more useful with a calendar app and email. I use a checklist app for tracking tasks at work. I used voice notes to conduct interviews for college courses. I use "word to go" to write down notes and ideas throughout the day. I use the bridge browser whenever I'm on the road and don't have wi-fi. I use the browser whenever I don't feel like using the laptop. I use the video camera to create guitar teaching videos. Yeah...my PlayBook is a nearly constant companion these days.
