I know my fiance has an android and I sit there for a few mins trying to swipe up and when it doesn't work I hand it back to her saying its broken lol

I do the same with my son's galaxy tab 10.1s as well. I also try it with the wife's galaxy SIII and the swipe gestures just refuse to work. Strange that!
