playbook since april 19. Loving it and can only get better.
Thinking of upgrading from company supplied 8530. Best new phone to use with Playbook.
No need to do it but we muat satisfy our urges.
Also, would i be better waiting for os10 late this year or is os7 the way to go now?

Wait for BB10? Up to you, I had a Curve too and upgraded to the Torch 9850 and am loving it. The faster browser alone is worth the switch. This OS7 is really solid IMO and the initial reviews as usual were negatively overdone.

If you want to upgrade now, I'd recommend either the 9900/9930 or 9810

I went from a tour to a 9850. My experience is that bridge and everything about works better.

Go with the 9930 or 9900. I've got a PB and the 9930 and the combo can't be beat. I love Bridging them together.

Sorry to threadjack this, but is there any new phones coming anything soon?
I'm on the same boat, currently own a Torch (first version), and would like to upgrade for something newer/better.

You should get the 9900. The keyboard can't be beat and it will be awesome using it as a keyboard for your pb when 2.0 comes out.

Nothing new till the Fall, if then. So check out the current offering and see if anything appeals to you. The new ones will be using the pb's OS and probably "keyboard-less".

I went from the 9700 to the 9930. Big time improvement. Much faster bridge and the touch screen is awesome. Oh yeah, can't beat the keyboard.

I went from a Torch 9800 to a Bold 9900. The other big contender was the 9860. I opted for the Bold because once you've used that keyboard nothing else will do. I think the 9790 looks pretty good as well but, if you like the 9800 form, go for the 9810 for the same phone only twice as fast. I really did like my 9800, but seriously try the Bold 9900 and tell me you're not impressed!

Either the 9810, the 9900, or the 9790, depending on your preference (i.e., you want the best keyboard and don't care about having a half-screen or a lesser camera, get the 9900, if you want a full touch screen and a better camera and don't care if the keyboard is more cramped than the 9900, get the 9810). The only OS 7 device I would not recommend in tandem with the PB is the 9850/9860. It has no physical keyboard, and it's going to be a nifty feature in OS 2.0 to pair the physical keyboard of your BB with the PB.

All right quit rubbing it in LOL Yes if my carrier had the 9930 I would have that but still likin the 9850 a lot. Would still rather type on the playbook though.

I would go into your carriers store and try a few. I came from a 9650 Tour and now use the 9930. Browser speed and keyboard are much better. Just find one you like and come back and tell us how great it is.

Thats why I want to upgrade now. I wanted to wait for BB10 but i want a keyboard. I figure if i upgrade now there should be a BB10 with keyboard ready before my next upgrade. I just need to decide between the 9900 and 9810.

Actually, from reading today, I should retract my statement. It sounds as if there will be two new OS7 phones (both curves????) and then expected is a full touch-with keyboard. So far Verizon has not shown any interest in the torch type with full screen and retracting keyboard. I don't know if they can't fit their needed cdma stuff inside or what.

9930 5 months ago and PB in December, simply great. I went from an 8330 to the afore mentioned after 2 faithful years with my relic. Wow what a difference. Now I'm spoiled, damaged goods. Won't ever go anywhere else!
