Do all new PlayBooks come with a warranty from RIM? If so, do they come with all devices or just those purchased at their retailers? In other words, if I bought a new device from a firm on Amazon, would the warranty be valid?

    First question, yes
    Second question, all
    Third question, yes

When you initially login to get your first update it automatically enters the PIN of the PB.
Your warranty start date is based upon that first login.
When you request warranty service RIM does not ask for additional information other than the PIN.
They currently do not seem to care where you made the purchase.
However, if you purchased a used unit then the warranty only seems to apply to the original purchaser, but I don't know if that is enforced.
You have 90 days unlimited phone access for tech service and one year hardware.

To clarify, Research In Motion announced unlimited telephone/email support for the BlackBerry PlayBook throughout the global roll-out of the tablet. When they will end this support is unknown. As for the hardware warranty it remains at 1 year from date or purchase but a third-party insurer does provide extended coverage for 2 years and covers more than the standard 1-year manufacturer warranty.
