I think this statement, "New Apps and Content:-- Your favorite apps plus thousands more.." is code for Android apps.
I certainly hope you're right. It is very odd they left this major functionality out of the press release. That feature alone would persuade more consumers. I know it did me.
Did anyone see A2DP in all that....not to be greedy or anything, I'm glad for the upcoming upgrade, but I didn't see anything concerning streaming music

I think they may not have wanted to use the word "Android" at all in the press release.

That sums it up. They've already approved dozens (hundreds?) of apps, including the Handster ones. It would be really odd for RIM to suddenly pull that Android support.
I'm with you anything RIM says take with a grain of salt. But I will say if RIM goes as far as releasing a press release about they usually deliver on all promises. You get trouble when you listen to the two knuckle heads at the top doing interviews.

My thoughts exactly. It's a Blackberry press release so no point using "Android" and allowing a chance for others to steal their thunder. I bet there are some who would only focus on "Android" had they mentioned the word. Anyone who has been attentively following (or not even that attentively) should be able to deduce where the thousands more apps are coming from. Plus they mentioned Zinio.
Spellcheck and language support? haha lots of great news in there, but there's alot more basic things that I hope are in there and give the PlayBook that BlackBerry feel.
Yeh, where is about on Spellcheck and additional Languages support? Regardless, this is a very exciting news, me can't wait
Glad to see there are improvements to Docs to Go. Hoping there are also going to be improvements to Adobe Reader and they just didn't mention it...like maybe bookmarks and the ability to annotate....
So this is all good news and people can't seem to just enjoy the fact that this update is going to be the BEES KNEES! And we should all bask in the glow of actual positive change, not to mention, a higher quality experience on our already great Playbook tablets.
