Having trouble doing this, I've done it before. Can someone help me out. Before I could also only do it one way, either calling the Playbook with my z10 or the z10 with my Playbook I don't remember which way it was working.

Is it possible to do it both ways consistently??

Basically what I want is mount a Playbook for my parents on the wall or hook it up to their tv so we can do easy video conferencing. I almost want to pick up another one an permanently mount it in my kitchen somewhere just for that purpose.

They should have their own Blackberry ID on their PlayBook. You would be able to video talk from your PB and I suppose your BB phone.

Ya i did enter both the Playbook pin and BlackBerry id for some reason can't get it working... just says not available, possibly it worked before the 10.2 update I don't know... I really wish this was made available, and worked, I know it's possible.

Go to the contacts app, then to the contact, and you should see the option to contact with pb video chat.

Was this option not removed with the update?

you can only call the z10 from the playbook but not the other way around. Regardless if on same blackberry id or not.

I'm on 10.2.1 and can see the playbook video option in the contacts info for all my pb contacts.

I used to see the PB Video Chat on my Z10 with particular contacts, but that option went away some time ago. I can still initiate calls from my PB to my Z10, but not the other way around.
Although I tricked it out: I placed a call to the Z10, but declined and that put a missed call notification in the Hub. I can now just tap on that notification and select "open" and it will call the PB.

Yeah I can't find an easy way to initial the call from BB10. They only way is if PB calls BB10 and then on the call log tap the icon at the bottom to Open, it will call the PB back. Someone write an app for this just to mimic that Open shortcut!

Err Blackberry perhaps, they were the ones who took the ability away in the first place. It worked fine before the 10.2 update.
Unless they're too busy putting their software on rival companies devices.

Everyone send BlackBerry an email or tweet to their twitter account.

I used to be able to contact a PlayBook from my Z10 but now it only shows the "Invite to BBM" option.

They need to bring BBM to the PlayBook, NOW!

Same here. In the meantime try the workaround.

I don't understand why you can't find or don't have that option. I have it, and it works perfectly. I'm using a Z30, maybe the Z10 doesn't have that option anymore? Anyone with a Z30 missing the call playbook option?

You can make a call from your z10 to PlayBook from the notifications. If a previous call is in notifications. That's how I do it

I'm using a Z10 on OS 10.2.1 and still have the option to initiate a PlayBook Video Chat through the contact app. Receiving calls from a PB works, too.

It didn't work for a while when I forgot to update one contacts BlackBerry ID email address.

For us who lost the option to call from the contacts app it is the only way to initiate it.
Until a few months ago, my contacts that have a PlayBook were stored with the PIN and Video Chat email address and it DID show a button to place a "PlayBook Video Chat".
Then one day I updated one contact's Avatar and saved it. The option to place "PlayBook Video Chat" disappeared!
I then tried other contacts and changed their Avatar as well, and every one of them vanished just like the first one.
I have done everything in the book (restart, reload OS...the works), but nothing ever brought it back again.
    Not even different OS.
Ever since it only shows the "Invite to BBM" button and nothing else.
They still can call me, but I need the workaround to call them.

It's only there on an old saved contact. If you try to make a new contact it's not an option.
