Hey everyone! I was playing around with different bar files lastnight, installing, testing, deleting, etc.. when an idea popped into my head. Not sure if this has ever been posted before so if it has I apologize for making a double post but I saw that Splashtop Desktop was available at BB World for download which allows you to connect to your pc via Playbook and take control. I wasn't sure how well this app would work so I decided to find the bar file online and load it with DDPB to test it out. I got everything setup and logged into my PC with the playbook and was actually very surprised how well and fast the app actually responded. So I figured hmmm lets test Netflix. I was expecting it to run choppy or slow but surprisingly it runs very well so I was impressed! We honestly don't know when BB10 will hit the Playbook and even so there is still no Netflix app, so if anyone perhaps did want to watch Netflix on their Playbook, this is a neat and cool temporary way of doing it

I also forgot to mention but when doing this, your pc volume will automatically mute itself and all sound will come out of the Playbook! ENJOY!

I just bought Splashtop this past weekend for reasons unrelated to Netflix. It seems to work very well, if you need this level of PB to PC connectivity I recommend it.

And for those who are using a pirated version, please step up and make the purchase at App World. It's good for the Splashtop folks, BBRY and us as BB users as more software purchases for BB platforms encourages more app development and I'm pretty sure most of us want that.

To the OP, great idea to use it for watching movies.

Now that I know how well it works, I actually went ahead and purchased the app!
Got to support the developers for doing a great job, and not only is it good for streaming Netflix but also great for watching anything on the pc as well!

Just for information's sake...the Splashtop people made a sort of off-shoot app for IOS products to promote it as a way to watch flash videos on your Ipad, iPhone, etc. Splashtop Browser or something like that, but also promoted this product as well to do the same thing.

See, even Apple has to come up with work-arounds.

Yeah, works well. Use it to shutdown PC before going to bed and other "desktop-only" things. Kinda neat to "see" Win 8 on the PB.
