Using my Blackberry Playbook out and about
Well on Saturday my daughter and I toured London visiting all the places on the London Monopoly board. It was great fun and I blogged about it on my blog London Monopoly Route successfully completed! | Will Cookson's Blog
What I didn't comment on there is how my Blackberries got on. I have a Blackberry Curve 9300 and a Blackberry Playbook and I wanted to see how mobile it could all be. I wanted to take pictures, videos and tweet our way round.
So, how did I get on?
Well firstly, I was pleased with the ease of taking pictures and videos on the Playbook (much better than my Curve - unsurprising, not as good as my main camera, again unsurprising). The videos were of reasonable quality and easy to take. The pictures were also ok when the lighting was good. But pictures taken indoors didn't do so well - but that is unsurprising given not having a flash.
The most frustrating was trying to tweet from the playbook. I had to go over to my blackberry curve to tweet as there is no link to twitter from the playbook without a wifi connection. That isn't strictly true there is a bridge link to the web that I connected to twitter but I couldn't find a way of linking to a picture.
The connection to my curve was also a bit slow - nothing major but a little hassle.
So, I was really pleased with this as a first attempt. But I am left with a couple of questions:
o Have you sent pics (without copying pics over to the SD card and then sending from my curve?) from twitter over the bridge? Have I missed something?
o A quick way of re-sizing pics and then being able to tweet them (to reduce bandwidth of sending)
