- I just accidentally discovered that the Browser will allow one to read xxx.TXT files.
The method exploits the fact that you can use the address bar to enter:
file:/// to explore the various folders and files on the pb.
(and whoops, just discovered you can view jpg's)
The folder you may be mainly interested in is:
file:///accounts/1000/shared
which is the folder you see when you hook your pb up to a computer.
Under that are the various normal folders, like documents, photos, etc.
I had copied a plain txt file to the documents folder just as a backup and when I clicked on that file-link, the xxx.txt file displayed in the browser.
As mentioned, while typing this, I found I could look at jpg's the same way - maybe not all that practical since there is a photo app but it was a surprise. I did discover a limitation of sorts - you cannot navigate down to any folder with a SPACE in its name - you get the FileSave prompt window. Hmm, just replaced the Space with a DASH and it will then open that folder.
Well, that's my discovery of the day. And since I've had a few text file I would like for simple reference, it will be handy.wms3 likes this.05-23-11 10:46 AMLike 1
