Then you must have been very bad indeed to have such sins!

Though, I'll admit the thought of dabbling in assembler did bring a nostalgic tear to my eye, and who needs assemblers anyway?... I recall patching programs by overwriting hex values in memory because I knew the hex values of the opcodes and could calculate the jump distances in my head. Damn, but I was good! LOL

while it doesnt apply to RAM upgrades for the Playbook... The first upgrade option I thought of was overclocking the processor. I also have an HP TouchPad... (its an awesome 9.7" tablet that is unencumbered by the apple brand ;-) ) it uses software called Govnah to rewrite the kernel, and allow it to up the processing power. While default is 1.2 GHz on the dual-core TouchPad... I've had it successfully overclocked at 1.7GHz forever! (1.8 GHz is possible, but tends to crash.)
Besides... its not like I am going to void the warranty on my Playbook. is such a software patch possible for the Playbook?

There's a HP TouchPad in the household, here, too.

I haven't overclocked it, or done any modding on it, though, as it's Mrs Wongsky's. Seems to work just fine for her, stock - the gestures and cards are quite similar to the PlayBook, as is the gmail / email client. Only modding I did, was to sideload the Kindle app, ages ago, when we first got it (in the HP firesale, cost us 109 (UK pounds) delivered for the 32G version).

The OP was asking if upgrading is possible or not, yet most concentrated on whether BB10 is right for the Playbook. Why not just answer his question if you know the answer without giving other opinions?
Because victorshikhman unnecessarily tied the question of upgrading RAM to the Playbook's ability to run OS 10.
If all he really wanted to know was if it was possible to upgrade the RAM in the Playbook he could have asked that question. The reason for the upgrade is not relevant.
Anything can be done but can it be done feasibly? No, of course not. The cost to consumers would far exceed the cost of the Playbook.

You can also put a V8 in a Toyota Corolla.
