I have a Bold 9650. Having just picked up a Playbook, would a see a benefit moving to a Bold 9930 for Bridge etc..? If there is a benefit, would it be worth the upgrade? Thanks!
I noticed today when I had my playbook bridged to my 9650 it was very slow when doing things like deleting email. Will an OS 7 phone make this faster?
Also, if I do decide to upgrade my phone, it will be without "contract" discounts. Any suggestions on a good place to pick-up a Sprint compatible 9930?
So you're going to be paying full retail?
I would buy online, but make sure the ESN is clean and whatnot.
If you choose Craigslist, it's best to meet at a Sprint store and have the device activated there with the seller.

Q1: Yes
Q2: At the time I got my 9810 my ATT plan was not in a position to allow an upgrade, so I just outright bought it on ebay NIB not even opened. I still have the same plan with the carrier, and will not upgrade through them.
You could look at ebay for Sealed NIB to get a general idea of prices, or Amazon for comparisons. I always check against the two for a ball park figure, and go from there in my window shopping mode.
I upgraded from the 9650 to the 9930 myself. That upgrade is well worth it, in and of itself. Your bridging experience might see a slight improvement as well, but I wouldn't say that upgrading for that experience alone is justified.
