I'm trying to set up a PlayBook for a user, and it's stuck on software update "Could not connecto to the update server. (3000) Please try changing your settings." Of course, I verify wifi connection, swipe to the left, and get the same message. I figure, what the hey, I'll just go through the debrick method and choose NOT to update next time I get to the same screen. I download and install Desktop Manager, which says there's no updates for the PlayBook. At that point, it stops the debrick method I'm so familiar with. I then went to a PlayBook that has already been set up and check for updates... says "There was an error connecting to the update server. Please try again later. (0)" I double check my Z10 with 10.2 leak, and it says I have the latest software.

Question is, is the update server for PlayBooks down? I've never had any issues connecting/trying from work before.

    Appears there's a server asleep.

Looks like it came back. Didn't have to go through the debrick method after all, as the original PlayBook is updating now. Just never experienced this first hand before.

Yep, fortunately appears it was a very brief, specific outage. Glad you got going the easy way.
