Got an update notification today for FreebVNC.
I uninstalled it a while back because an update wanted to be granted access to the internet and to my files.
Did not see why it needed access to my files so I dropped it like a bad habit.
    That is creepy.
Now I get a notification in the status bar asking me to consider supporting the dev by buying the pay version.
    That is very creepy.
Combine the two and it is way creepy.
Would not have thought the latter was possible.

A related note Android app's permissions are not tracked under settings->security

Auto-writing problems? Same happened to me and turned it all off!

    To OP:

    Is that an android app?

If it is, you should be able to delete it just by removing the icon, but just to be sure, download the "Settings" app, sideload it, and use it to uninstal the apps. Another way was already said by Hugo.

    Hugo, where do you live?

Op: So, you should try the "Settings" app. I't gives you the Android settings menu, where you can control and remove the apps.

    What OS are you on?

I had a look through app world and did not see a "settings" app.
I guessing I would have to sideload it.

Settings is already on your PB. You can access it by installing Quick App Manager from app world, then clicking on the settings icon that will appear in the QAM sceen and then open, then Manage Applications. Whether this will help is questionable if you deleted the app- the app in question likely will not show up as an installed application.

Just gave Quick App Manager a try and it wants access to the Internet and Device Identifying Information.
I granted access out of curiosity.
FreebVNC does not show up in the list of applications but it does show up ad uninstalled in app world.
Got another notification for it yesterday.
Nice app but could pay a little more attention to Deatail

I didn't really think it would show up since you had uninstalled it. What you might try, though, is opening "Downloads" in Quick App Manager. If anything shows up in Downloads, delete it.

    Botz, Settings is sideloaded...

But it works! Its better than having to log on to DDPB everytime you want to delete an app...
