    Sorry for my english. I recently bought a playbook and am a Ubuntu 11.10 user.
    I cant connect the playbook to the internet by creating a wifi hotspot with ubuntu 11.10.
    I have tried all types of password types avlbl on ubuntu 11.10 (open ,wep 40/128,wep 128 and wpa/wpa2 personal)
    I can connect to the PB on win7 using Connectify-me and wpa2 personal .
    Please Help..

    I frequently connect to the wifi with my nokia X6 ( 802.11 b/g ) . It works with all different forms of encryption except wpa/wpa2 .

    What kind of network does it create? Adhoc? I don't think the PB likes Adhoc networks.

    I think so. I did try changing the network type to infrastructure after it was created . no difference though..

    Okay a lot more research brings me to this. BCM4312 wireless card is what i've got. So how to set it to be able to pick up the wifi anyone??

    The problem isn't the card it's the software. The built in Hotspot creator for Ubuntu just creates Ad-Hoc networks, the Playbook doesn't support these, only infrastructure. There is a way to create an infrastructure network in Ubuntu, but it is very long and complicated to set up.
