Tutorial How to Read Kindle Books on PB without Side Loading the Android App
I posted this in another thread but revised it a little and thought it would be beneficial as its own thread instead of being buried.
***Update*** There seems to be some confusion going on here. So I will try to more directly explain this: This will ALLOW you to do OFFLINE reading with NO CONNECTION. You can CLOSE the browser, RESTART your Playbook and you can still GO BACK AND READ your books with NO INTERNET connection. Everything is saved to the browser's cache since you pinned your books using the HTML5 app. ***End Update***
Instructions for using the Kindle Cloud app (even offline) with Simple Browser+ for the Playbook. Unfortunately, I could not get it to load read.amazon.com without a wifi connection with the free Simple Browser. SB+ costs $2 on the App world.
Here it is:
Buy SimpleBrowserPlus - Download SimpleBrowserPlus - Buy root from BlackBerry App World
For reference, my Playbook OS version is 2.1.0.1314.
1.) Download Simple Browser+ from the app store.
2.) Open it in landscape mode so you get access to all the Kindle's font settings once in a book.
3.) Open SB+ settings by selecting the drop down menu icon on the top bar (swipe down from top if bar is not shown) go into settings and then set user agent to firefox.
4.) Go to read.amazon.com.
5.) Sign in with your account.
6.) Once in the Kindle app, use the scroll bar to scroll since swiping is problematic. Tap the scroll bar where you want to go to in the list.
7.) Hold and press on a book you want to read offline to bring up a pop-up.
8.) Select 'download and pin book' from the pop-up. Then wait for it to download.
9.) Repeat for the books you want. I don't know if there is a limit or not on size.
10.) Tap on the book you want to read.
11.) To get to the Kindle book menu, tap the center of the very top of the screen. Eventually, it should get very easy to bring up.
12.) Tap the side margins of the screens to turn pages. Hitting where the turn page arrows pop up seems to work best which are in the middle of the side margin areas.
13.) I'm using the smallest margins from the Font setup pop-up available from the menu bar on top. No matter what font size I am using with that margin size, I am not having text cut off problems. Other margin sizes may work too.
14.) Slide down to open the browser menu bar back up. Go into settings.
15.) Press the plus button.
16.) That should create a bookmark to https://read.amazon.com.
17.) Use the bookmark to load the site even if you don't have an internet connection.
18.) You can restart it later in portrait or landscape. Just stay there the whole time.
19.) Enjoy. I hope this clears up any confusion and allows you to have a good Kindle cloud experience.
Troubleshooting:
If you are using the same margin sizes as me and still have text cutting off try restarting your Playbook. Stuff seemed to work a lot better after I restarted my Playbook. I don't know why. That's just how it worked for me.
The lag seems to be more about not pressing in the right place than the app being laggy. Practice a bit before deciding if this is for you or not.
One more thing it seems with SimpleBrowser+ I have to press the X to clear a text field before I can edit it then bring up the keyboard with the corner swipe. Might be my Playbook only that is having this issue.
Good luck everyone!

Of course, this means you can only read while you have internet access. Once you are away from wifi (unless you have the 4G model), you won't be able to access the online reader.
