I'd rather the Flash option be MY choice to turn off and on, than the all-mighty creator choosing for me.
And yet you use a Torch, which doesn't support Flash, so the "choice" wasn't important enough for you to switch to Android.

I love it when people counter their own arguments.

I never bought my 9810 with the anticipation for it to do Flash. This is about the PB not the BB phones.

Then we're in luck, since I don't think people are buying the iPad anticipating Flash, and thus it's a non-issue for them as well. Thanks for clearing that up.

For me it is because I don't like android or apple so I choose a bb phone flash or not. If the pb didn't have flash then I probably either wouldn't have a tablet or I would have an android tablet if I really NEEDED a tablet.

Yes flash is dying but it is going to take years and has anyone really used much html5 stuff yet besides video playing? I think it has a way to go yet before taking over.

This thread reminds me SO MUCH of an ongoing debate going on at another tech site I go to. It's mainly between Android users and iOS users. The iOS users say that flash is dead and HTML5 is the future. The Android users say that flash is still relevant and it's awesome to have. Whenever someone drops a link to a HTML5 readiness test for the browser, my Android devices can play it just fine. So my line of thinking is, if my device can handle both JUST FINE, what is the big deal here?? As long as I can play the content I want, I'll be happy.

I asked this earlier in the thread but I didn't get a response. On the other tech site I mention, it's not uncommon for entire threads to be deleted because kids can't play nice. So now I can't find where those HTML5 readiness tests are posted. Does anyone here know a link? I want to run it on the Playbook and hopefully it'll get an outstanding score so I can go back there bragging. I've become the of a lot of jokes since I bought my Playbook. Shows how much they know!!
The HTML5 test - How well does your browser support HTML5? you will score very well

Just saying, since I realise accuracy isn't the point, but there are several alternate browsers for apple products that if someone is hellbent and determined they need flash for browsing (I don't miss it personally) they can have it.

Puffin and Skyfire, off the top of my head.

So the flash argument being used to denigrate Apple is a moot point.

Oh and I will nip this in the bud, I also own 2 BBs, so I'm allowed to be here.

Gee, we better get rid of Kevin then! Did you see half the images he posted on the blogs since CB's been founded??

I know, so I picked one (maybe I picked wrong!).

Yeah, I got 330 and 9 bonus with FF9, but what I find funny is that IE8 only gets 41 with 0 bonus points on my XP workstation. Forgot to test with my 64-bit Win7 Ultimate machine at home last night.
