Are any canucks able to do this? I can't seem to get any further than the "play" button on their site to stream events. I click where required but nothing happens - no blue line across top of screen. Maybe this part of their site has not been setup to work with playbook? I know sometimes on sites like CBC vid could hang up for periods of time but not like this. I am using the browser. Couldn't find an app other than a "CBC live " app which is essential useless and not live at all.

    TIA

I think it's an issue with the site, it's doing it on my Z30 as well but the other night when I tested it.. it was working fine.

I checked again and its definately a problem with watching on Playbook on my end as I am watching on my PC right now - however with my Tablet beside its a no go on that -I just get to the stage where the screen has pic of the event you are streaming with the "play" button in bottom right corner however that button seems to be dead - nothing happens when clicking on it (i.e. it doesnt even seem to be clickable). Working on PC though

Haven't tested, but have you guys tried the stream in Origami with a different desktop user agent?

I couldn't get it to work using any browser.

Dying a slow death my playbook is. Soon to be relegated to life as a glorified ipod.

I suspect it is something related to Flash.

When I play an Olympics video via my Mac and right click the video, there seem to be a bunch of plugins being used, which may not be compatible with the PlayBook.

If it worked before, it may not be Flash related, but they may have just pulled a Hulu on the BlackBerry users. It may be as simple as content licensing and if you want to view it on a tablet, you need to use a tablet app licensed to view the content.

What about converting the Sochi app listed on the Play Store?

Same here. I've started running into this with the Playbook and my Google TV box. While the Chrome browser on my Google TV supports flash, it's out-dated and sites are starting to block it. Same happened with the superbowl. I tried streaming on the Google TV and Playbook...nada. Same site on my Z10 with HDMI to the TV worked well.

Slowly dying, but somewhat relevant for now (for my needs). I figure in another year it'll be officially done, but we'll see what happens. None of the other tablets really excite me these days, though. The Nexus 7 is nice, but not "wow" at the same time. I'll have to take another look when I find the need to upgrade....or the Playbook fails.

So i guess it's not going to work. It's really a shame how they did not release an app and how it doesn't work on the playbook. I have tried sideloading the Sochi 2014 app , it loads fine, but when loading a stream, it shows the ads and then crashes.

This is awful, have an iphone user watching the gold medal game and I can't get past the play button.

I set Origami browser user agent to Nexus 7 and turned off desktop mode. I pressed play and got a prompt to download the app from Google Play. Set it to iPad and it prompted to download from the App store. On desktop or any other user agent it does nothing. That answer the question? It did for me.

It won't work on my Z10. On my son's S4 it states that to view the video you must view it in the app, which then opens the Sochi app.

I have the CBC Sochi app and have been unable to consistently play the videos.

I have the CBC Olympics app loaded on my Z10. Don't worry about consistency with video. I seen enough issues on other devices with that app.

Looking at Google Play review, it becomes pretty clear that all of the CBC apps (radio, news, Sochi, etc) are spotty at best.

CBC video does not even work on desktop Firefox browser. I've only been able to watch using Internet Explorer on desktop.

Must be a drm thing or something.
