Splashtop suggestions
Hi, I just upgraded to the latest Splashtop on my Playbook, and was reminded of a problem I've been having for a while. Ever since a certain upgrade of Splashtop Remote and upgrade of the Splashtop Streamer on my Mac, I've lost the use of accessing my Mac over the internet. Now I see it's Splashtop 2 on other devices and they want more money for internet access, which I don't agree with, but that's another story.
Is there anyone out there who still gets internet access to their home computer using Splashtop Remote on their Playbook(Meaning you are not on your home network)? Specifically, access to a Mac? If so, which version of the streamer is installed on your Mac? I feel the solution is in the version of Streamer.
Thanks in advance to all who can help.

Spashtop should work over any wifi if you use a google account to help it locate the PC.
More than that, I really don't know...

It used to work. It hasn't worked for a few months. I did to upgrades to the Streamer, and I think that's where things have gone wrong.

SOLUTION!!!!
On the weekend, I sent in a support ticket to Splashtop regarding my Splashtop Remote 2 on my iPad mini. Since I was a version 1 owner, version 2 should have lifetime remote access (on a different wifi) for me. I received an email this morning telling me that I have been set up with lifetime remote access.
Since that moment, I tried Splashtop on my Playbook from the office and voila! It's working again! So the Splashtop 2 streamer (which requires a different log in) was preventing my Playbook from logging in from a remote wifi. I'm so happy it's working again. It truly is an amazing product.
