Yes in the video interview Kevin did with Jeff (I think it was Jeff) He shows that there will be spell check, predictive text and short cuts like my loved double space bar for placing a period
That was in the messages App. I think the real question from the OP was will there be a spell checker in the browser and other apps that have text input.
I understand that but I asume that it is system wide because it is a finished product now.
I thought he was using spell check that was being pulled from the blackberry?
Yes, I thought it was being pulled from the blackberry also!
When he was using the remote feature of Bridge, where you type on the BlackBerry keyboard, it was showing the auto-text function of the phone, not the PlayBook.
It looks like the PlayBook's new predictive text feature may work only when using the virtual keyboard... probably makes sense.
The spell-checking itself, I'm not sure we've seen. I definitely is expected to be in 2.0, and in a fairly universal way, but it's possible third-party apps will need updates to take advantage of it fully. We're expecting another developer beta any day now, which while it may have other features as well (but not the whole PIM etc) is expected to have the spell-checking abilities for developers to integrate into their apps. I'm certain it is planned for the 2.0 release.
I believe spell check in there. Read this.
