I did a speed test for the bridge internet on playbook using speedtest app and I found it quite impressive 1105 kbit in avarage, I have BB 9900 on Bell canada and bridge ver 1.0.7.4
BlackBerry data is pushed through the NOC, there is no real way to measure speed from your carrier. Not saying it isn't somewhat accurate, just saying -- it'll vary from insanely amazing to depressingly poor because the accuracy is off.
I did the test and found I had .12 down and .7 up with a ping of 900 ms. Restarted the PB and got .11 down, .10 up with a ping of 820ms. Something strange is a foot. 3G connection with full bars on Vodafone Aus. I think this test is fairly accurate since it is really really slow. I try and watch youtube and it has to buffer all the time. It changes all the time though. But lately it hasn't been good, for weeks now. It is still quick on my phone so I don't know what's up.
Edit 1: Did a speed test on my phone and it came out as 177kbps the first time, 249kbps the second time and 264kbps the third time. Turns out my phone connection really isn't that fast.
Edit 2: Did another speed test with it sending 1mb on my phone and got a speed of 995kbps. That's a lot better. It should be a more accurate test.
Another test on the PB still shows horrible speeds( ping 999ms, down=.14 up=.03)
I think what I take away from this is that it is hard to judge the speed, and my bridge speed is way too slow.
