So this is happening a lot recently. I'm watching a video or listening to music and the sound just switches off for no reason. It just goes dead. Restarts of the music player or the browser for a YouTube video are no good. The music plays and there is no sound, it is not muted either. Only a reboot fixes this. It's terrible. Anyone else had this as well?

Are you doing anything else at the time? Anything just running in a background window? But a Reboot fixes it so it is probably not hardware.

You are probably hinting at a website opening with a flash or sound video or vice versa but no, that's not it either. All the sound just dies.

Well, if it does not pass, you might have to go that drastic step of Wiping or Debricking (awful process restoring that I just went through.)

I've had two Playbooks do that. The sounds, even keypress sounds stop, a reboot or shutdown fixes it for weeks.

Man the sound quality on this playbook is super crappy sigh...
Its by far the best sound of all mobile devices that I played with. Its also one of its only selling point. That and the abiltity to attract trolls.

I beg to disagree. The sound quality of the PB is one of the best (if not the best) compared to other tablets.

I think the audio from the pb is great, but after waking it up just now mine has also gone quiet.

Hard re-boot fixed it plus brought back my BB bridge icons....

The problem has been discussed in another thread, and seems to be an issue introduced since OS 2.1.0.1526. It should be reported at '[email protected]' by the OP so that it gets corrected, otherwise it will never get any attention by the former RIM.
