I have at one point or another used all of these tablets and the Galaxy Note 10.1 as well (which does have front facing speakers) and I still say that the PlayBook is the best when it comes to sound volume and clarity. It totally smokes my Note 10.1 in both as well.
    Thank you!

Also - I must be missing something - how do you turn pages on a tablet using a foot pedal ?
Think you are out of luck there with the PlayBook. Not sure about other tablets but I've not witnessed this on any as of yet. Sounds like something you might want to develop on of you are (or know) a developer.

eh ? I was asking another poster how to do it since he mentioned something to that effect (I wouldnt think of it myself!). I am almost sure he didn't mean actually turn pages with a foot pedal but I just wanted to clarify what he meant in case I was missing out on something I wouldnt have thought of in my wildest dreams (3D printing anyone).

If you have a bluetooth enabled footpedal you might be able to do it. And what do you know they seem to be available for the iPad and Android.

I have 2 Nexus 7s first gens, 1 BlackBerry PB 64GB, 1 HP Slate 7 with Beats Audio, and 2 Asus Ideapad

The best sound quality comes from the BlackBerry PB hands down. Its loud, clear, crisp.

If only BlackBerry backed, marketed, and stayed loyal to the PB it would have been a great device. It is, but to the world it isnt.

Yes, "just" a singer here I carry my lyrics on my Kindle e-ink reader which I much prefer to the lit screen on tablets. Also - I must be missing something - how do you turn pages on a tablet using a foot pedal ?
    Look at
    MobileSheets

That page has info about using a foot pedal.

The person who I know uses this had found a 13" Android tablet to use it on. I have only tried it briefly here on my 7" Android tablet, but it really needs more RAM that that device has (it only has 512mb).

The pages are turned by bluetooth connection with apps being available for Android, Apple and computers. Two suppliers of equipment are AirTurn and PageFlip (Cicada). A reference which explains operation and compares equipment ( maybe needs an update) is:
