Skype is running on Android 4.2 runtime, unless PlayBook gets the same Android runtime update I don't see it coming anytime soon.

Let's be frank, the only way we are getting this now is if they make another playbook that runs the new OS. I do hope this happens, but there are unfortunately a great deal of long odds between that and now so there you have it.
