Android based app... a possibility on the OS2.0 for the near future. Right now no Skype.

Note that the android player version of Skype will not be fully featured. AFAIK, there is no video.

    Nice find!

    From the page:

    "Some notes:
If you're using Android 2.2 (Froyo) or greater on a Rim Blackberry Playbook not listed in the What's New section, you should still be able to enable video calling in Skype settings. Please note that video call quality may not be as good as on a certified Rim Blackberry Playbook.

On Android 2.2 (Froyo), only the back camera will work. This is because only devices running Android OS 2.3 or higher allow apps to access the front facing camera.

If the setting to enable video calling is not available in the Skype Settings on your Rim Blackberry Playbook that means video calling is not yet supported on your Rim Blackberry Playbook."

Seems video calling /may/ work, but only with the rear camera.

I'd be happy if voice calls worked.

But the Android Player is Android 2.3, correct?

And what the heck is a certified Rim Blackberry Playbook? Lol

I really am not trusting this one. The url is all wrong and the actual handster page has the work "android" in place of "rim blackberry playbook". I feel like this is a ruse to get hopes up and dash them for OS2. Just my opinion. Can anyone verify wether or not this site is legitimate?

Edit: with that url, every app has the modified text about being playbook compatible. If this is a fake, it took quite some time to create.

if anyone wants to try, i attached the bar file for 2.5.0.108. I converted this using APK from Free calling Skype Android 2.5.0.108 Apk 2011 - xda-developers

I get an error after tapping sign in, but you may have a different result. I'm on .7111.
