As you may know there is a week left for CES 2012 to go... I am wondering if RIM will take some advantage of the event and launch something to stirr the mobile world, it will be interesting to know your asessment on this subject.

Well RIM does have one of the larger style booths there. Lets hope they put it to good use. My bet? OS 2 running on a 3G/4G playbook will be revealed.

It's the right time to let us know about OS2 and the February release.

They should also talk about upcoming playbook apps.

...and give us a BB10 phone update

for me personally, id love to hear about something OS2 related. im planning on acquiring a 9900 (or 9790 cause of the camera). Not sure Ill be ready to give up that sweet physical keyboard as yet. I use my playbook soooo much, i personally would rather them devote alot more time and attention to bettering the experience of le playbook !!

I can appreciate others who are anticipating BB10 phones though...me, not so much..

There is always going to be a push to take our keyboards away, even if by way of higher non-competitive prices. Why? cost of manufacturing. Virtual keyboards cost zero. How? By making you feel like a grandpa or grandma and "not hip" for wanting one.

    RESIST!!

i wouldnt expect any new info about BB10 devices.....at most im expecting an update on OS2.0 running on the wifi PB. Dont expect to see a 3G/4G playbook till 2013 at the minimum. Rim already dropped plans for PB2 in favor of BB10 (which i think is the smart choice). I dont see them focusing on another tablet until thier phone business picks up and people actually want a RIM tablet.

I hope not. Ultrabooks are nothing more than the manufacturers way of getting people to spend more on their portable computers. Netbooks killed the profit margins on cheap laptops so they had to invent something else to draw consumers attention away from cheap netbooks and cheap low-end laptops. They looked at the Macbook air and said "wow, look how much people are willing to spend on feature poor equipment if it is made really thin!" I would rather have a bit more depth to my laptop and have all the ports and a decent sized battery.

CES would be a great time for RIM to annouce a change of leadership and a public preview of OS 2.0 Hey, I can hope can't I?

Unless RIM has something substantial and highly polished to showcase like a near complete OS 2, I would prefer they just keep their mouth shut so they stop the trend of getting loyal customers' hopes up only to disappoint and giving more ammunition for tech reporters/bloggers.
