    Amazon has a 32gb for $179.

I currently have a Z10 as well. A Z10/Playbook combo seems kinda nice.

    Thoughts? $179 is crazily cheap.

No. Wait until BB10 arrives, you'll find it under $100 by then.

The deal is good. Do look into what it is capable of doing and the limitations under OS 2. Check out the apps store to see if there are apps you are not willing to live without or don't want to sideload. Don't expect BB10 on the PlayBook until closer to the end of the year. If you have looked into it and found the PlayBook to be the perfect companion for you, then by all means get it,

I love my PlayBooks and would be loathe to be without them.

Is it as snappy as the z10? In terms of actual daily use. I realize the specs are different.

Nope it's not, it can lag with a lot of apps open and the virtual keyboard sometimes gets stuck for a while before spitting out all you typed in one go. The Z10 is faster because of faster hardware and because BB10 is better optimized than PB OS.

In a word, no. The native browser is slower and not as capable as the Z10's browser. Native apps are quite snappy, some Android ports can be laggy and others buggy.

Realize that the PlayBook only has 1GB memory, is two years old and running on OS2 so it won't perform like a Z10. It is a lot better than a lot of the alternative tablets though. I suspect when BB10 comes to the PlayBook, there should be considerable improvements in performance and apps selection.

The bridge feature between the z10 and playbook is very limited currently. Once BB10 is released for PB I suspect the bridge will become more functional as it is currently with all other BB OS's
I absolutley love my playbook though. I can see almost not needing a laptop when combining the z10 and playbook

I got my 32G for $159 about 6 months ago...NEW....I love my Playbook, and almost all of my students think that having no buttons and swiping for everything is cooler than iPad....they just never see any of them or have heard of them (yes, I'm looking at YOU BB marketing numbskulls)

I thought the same when I got my Z10. So I bought a 32gb with bluetooth keyboard. After two weeks I was left underwhelmed. I turned around and returned it. Your Z10 already does everything you'd want your PlayBook to do, and more.

Assuming it gets bb10. The tablet is two years old.

I would say yes! It is a really good tablet. I use mine just about every day, even with owning a Z10. Videos and games are a plus on PB. If there is any issue at all it would be the browser, but to rectify that I usually turn off Java until it's needed. Quick 3 step process and the browser is instantly much faster and smoother! The PB OS itself is pretty smooth, not as fast as Z10 but I'm not racing either. Even if you just get it and hook it up to the TV as a media center it's worth it. Use it for browsing, music, videos and things like StreamingNow app. Plus the prices these days are great. Hope this helps.

I use my z10 mainly as a phone when I'm home. The playbook is a small laptop replacement for me, I love the playbook, sometimes annoying lag but no biggy. The playbook 32 gb should be at 149 or lower these days.

I agree, my wife did a lot of school work last semester on her PlayBook. Not so possible with the Z10.

If you like the tablet as is, then go ahead and get one. Otherwise forget about the rumors of OS10 coming to Playbook. It might and it might not come. You'll just get frustrated waiting for it and end up like Sad_Old_Man drinking himself to oblivion in his cellar.

i disagree,,, once PB10 gets released, they'll go up in price,,, people will be tripping over themselves to get one,,, get it now,,, but i would go for the 64 gigger,,, you won't have to worry about space & it's only $20 more...

My only gripe is that it's 2011 hardware and we're currently in 2013. The price is great, but I'm not so sure that BB10 will ever grace the PB.

Assuming BBRY releases an updated tablet, there's no reason to update the old PB to BB10 otherwise people won't be enticed to purchase the newer model.
