Surface pro 3 I hear is pretty amazing. But expensive.

SP3 is great. Convenience of a tablet but the usefulness of a full Windows machine. I'm so happy I ended up with it over an iPad or Android tablet.

Well, I got high on new blackberry smell & bought it. Interestingly, the old one plays you tube video fine but the new one has a video error. I wonder if that means the software install on the old one didn't take completely? The older one has more free memory too. Weird.

Buy it. I just bought mine for a bit less for 100. Even if you dont use it for nothing else you can load all ur movies and mp3s and use it for listening or movie device. How many other tablets out there have a 64 gb internal hard drive?

I have turned flash and Java off on our PlayBook browsers and the speed improves significantly.

Actually, Origami Browser works quite well. And I'm speaking as one who just today sold my mint-condition Playbook 64 gb for $80. While I liked the hardware and OS, it was obsolete next to my Xperia Z tablet and Nexus 5 phone for all but browsing, movies and music. Too bad Rim wouldn't put any money into apps and updating the hardware. PB had potential.

I might be off my rocker but I am typing this on my playbook and I have used it plenty. The lower end tablets just seemed like total crap compared to the ancient playbook. I do wish developers would keep their apps curret or delete them from bbw. I can't load ezines from kobo a zinio doesn't work ay all.

I bought my 64 gb over 3 years ago and have had no problems with it. I use it every day, all day.. I have a few people who wanted one. During the summer I picked up 2 slightly used 32's for just under $100.00 each.I wiped them, reinstalled the OS along with several Apps. One was sent to Europe and is used by my neices kids plus they use Video Chat several times a week. This was a great investment, a very good working unit and has no problems. The other unit was wiped, Reinstalled the OS along with several apps. My grandson uses it when he comes here. He can keep his grubby hands off my 64. I also use it to store movies (connect via HDMI to my 55 inch high def TV), store ebooks on it. So when my grsndson is not here, my wife uses it for reading eBooks. I think the PlayBook is far from dead. The ones I picked up are a great deal imho.

I bought a second 64g playbook so if one dies I will still have one, I found mine for around $80 each on ebay. I use it every day, I download music, I watch a little video but sometimes the video won't play consistently until after it has timed out a couple times, then it works fine. My paid wifi times out on me anyway.

It has great audio quality, doesn't freeze and crash like my Samsung Tab -2 did, and no unwanted crapware apps get installed, which to me is a very big deal.
I use mostly origami browser, but downloads only work on the stock browser. In my opinion, the playbook is not end of life at all.
