It is very outdated, but it still works for video and browsing. If it's a good price then get it. I bought both if mine for very cheap

It is outdated compared to other tablets, especially the browser, really poor performance. I do think that it is great at taking videos...

Don't bother get an android tablet for $100....$20 would be a good deal for what essentially would be a browser and a video player, if you can convert the format that will play well on it...

I agree with the majority on here - don't waste your money. Even if you have to spend a little more, get a newer Android tablet. You'll be dissapointed with the Playbook.

I would not buy it, no matter the price, why would you like to buy something that is way obsolete and will not have any updates, the browser is slow and you tube will not take your account any more

The built in speakers are great so it's great for media. But I disagree when people say that it's still good for browsing.

It's way outdated as it sits. Move onto another platform for a tablet.

If you get it, you have to accept all of its shortcomings.

I like my playbook because it's enjoyable for me to tinker with and not because I expect it to be able to handle the most up-to-date tasks.

At this point, it is excellent for media. For browsing, you will be terribly disappointed. $100, is way too much to spent on a PlayBook today.

If you actually mean "free" when you say "buy" then yes, by all means get it. If however "buy" means parting with your cash then absolutely not.

    It is outdated. Brother.

You could only use it as a music player in the toilet or for the shower.

Otherwise you won't get satisfied. Forget browsing with that old bad boy. It's a bag of hurt and too slow.

Again, maybe for taking photos/videos and music player. The rest is crappy. No apps, no nothing.

And 2015 is right in front of you.

Get some modern tablet. Invest. It's better for the long haul.

$100 USD is way too much for a PlayBook.

Like others have said, maybe for $20 or so I'd pick it up, but no more than that. For $100USD a low end recent Android will serve you much better.

Try a galaxy tab. They're brand new, just released. The smaller screen sizes sell for about $180.

I wouldn't spend a dime on a PlayBook at this point. Not saying it's useless, but it's simply obsolete. In the tech world it's worth $0. For example if a store was to have inventory of playbooks they would have to be recorded as $0 value, same goes for any IT shop with a fleet of them.

I still use mine daily but it is out of date. Depends what you want to do with it.

The taptu news aggregator works very well as does the gpodder podcast manager. There are still several apps I have on it that are work related and yesterday when we had a complete computer outage at work for an hour out came the PlayBook to save the day.

The z10 has those same apps but would not have had the battery life to do what I did with the PlayBook.

So I guess the correct answer is "it depends". Keep in mind that a good up to date android tablet with a 7 inch screen will set you back $150 or so.
