    Since updating to OS 2.1 including the latest .1088 update the front camera is not functioning. I get a "camera in use" error opening the Video Chat app and just a black screen reversing the cameras in the Camera app. The few others that have had a similar issue said they had to send theirs in as it's a hardware problem but that does not make sense to me since it operated just fine on OS 2.0. I dont use the front camera or the video chat app so I'm thinking of just waiting for BB10 to see if it's corrected. For those of you who sent your PB in, how long did it take for them to fix it and get it back to you?

    Well I can tell you now... get it sent in. Even the developers beta for BB10 for playbook isn't scheduled to be out until sometime in late Nov/Dec so you can have a new PB or a fixed PB within 3-4 weeks

    I am a registered developer. So you mean I will get BB10 beta sometime in 2012? I haven't seen this news anywhere. Are you quoting it from somewhere?

    As above, do not wait. From most threads on this issue, it needs Rim's repair and does not resolve.

    The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

    Yes, I did a complete brick and reload via Desktop Manager. Same result.

    I have tried quite a few things Nothing worked..
    So I called up Support.. Taking it to the service centre tomorrow..
    I suggest you that its best to do that.. No one knows any solution.. No one knows if and when an update will fix it.. Nor if BB10 release will fix it and if it does when it is coming..

    Been on the phone with them for a half hour with someone who barely speaks english having to repeat myself 3 times for every answer and then got transfered to a fax machine. Ugh....
