    Hi,

    I just got a Playbook and am generally amazed by it.
    However it does have a serious screen issue. The screen always shows "what has been there". This may note be a problem for browsing the web, but defeniteley for watching videos or playing games. I already re-installed the firmware several times, but that didn't fix anything.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?
    (I'll post some screenshots, so you can get an idea of it. You can clearly see icons from the main menu, altough I'm currently in an app.)

    Very strange, almost like screen burn you can get from leaving screens on, especially the old CRT's. Never experienced it with my PB. Perhaps a call to BB is needed. How old is it?

    Interesting ghosting effect. Not something I have experienced with my PlayBook. It looks like the LCD screen is not refreshing properly when going to a new screen. I have seen this type of effect on one of my older laptops.

    Did you buy the PlayBook new? Has it been activated for less than one year? If so, I would be calling the folks at BB warranty as this looks like a hardware problem.

    I bought it new, but without a billing. However the seller (ebay) told "There is no warranty but you can get one online".

    I would call BlackBerry anyway. The PlayBook has a one year from date of purchase warranty. They don't require proof of purchase. If the tablet wasn't registered in the past it will treated as a new unit.

    Worst case scenario would be to ask seller for an exchange or refund. If that doesn't work, open a case with ebay. I had to do that once and ebay was very helpful in resolving the issue.

    Does this occur all the time or when the battery is low - not enough power to refresh the screen as others suggested???

    The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

    It occurs all the time, even when I have a full battery.

    Support has been helpful on the two occasions I have contacted them more, once for a self-inflicted issue, and once for a hardware issue. Both were resolved efficiently.

    I had a temporary ghosting once when I played a card game for a few hours. It did fade out on its own after a day or so and I've never had any problems since.

    It faded out, when I wasn't using it for over 10 hours. But the ghosting effects returned once I was using it for more than 10 minutes.
