I can see it now:
They will be scrapping BB10 and going straight for BB11. BB11 phones will be released in Q1 of 2014
But seriously, I don't think it's really going to be directly related to Playbook other than things like, BB10 will be available on Playbook, etc, which we all have heard already.
I reckon its the secret recipe to make the perfect jam...a la Robinsons...RIM have decided to bite the bullet & from market research indicators they have decided to actually use their products to diversify into the food market! Possible way to make up market loss?
I think the ecosystem will leapfrog the competition. You have to realize what they are doing and compare it to the current definition of "ecosystem", which mainly means OS, phone/tablet and apps.
The new definition of "ecosystem" will include cars and vending machines etc. It will include paying by NFC. It will include turning off your lights at home from your BB10 device at work, if you forgot, or turning down the temperature of your home thermostat.
M2M is what they are setting up with the new BB10 ecosystem.
Maybe we should find a new term to refer to BB10 as.
Nobody wants a household computer. Or at least nobody wants that enough to pay for it.
Just open your shutters on your own, and you will be fine.
Yes that is fine. If you are at home. Many people want to check things from afar.
Many people want to connect their phones to their cars more effortlessly.
You sound like the people who thought remote controls for TVs were not needed.
The times, they are a'changin.
