is it just me or is everyone else on Rogers getting slow tether speeds? Im trying to tether with my Playbook bit im getting .39Mbp download and .27Mbp upload. Is something not right here or is this normal. If so i might have to go back to the 500MB because those speeds are not worth the extra $5 for 1GB.

I am tethered on Rogers and I'm watching the celebrity aprentice on globaltv.com with no lagging or buffering at all, seems fine to me!

Does tethering cost extra? I have a hefty 6 gig data plan with Rogers (an old iphone plan) but to my knowledge never signed up for any extra tethering plan. Is this included as part of the data plan?

1G data plans and up tethering at no extra cost with Rogers

when I'm tethered it's actually pretty quick. I was impressed. I haven't done a speed test though, didn't really feel I needed to

I have the same expired 6GB plan from when I had an iPhone 3GS, it's awesome. We can tether forever and not get anywhere close to consuming even half this plan.

I find that it all depends on where you are. At home, where I have little need to tether, I find that the speed is quite good. At work, my Torch can barely make a phone call so tethering is quite slow.

oh, I forgot, the other day I was getting terrible response out of the tether, so I rebooted both devices and it seemed better. Maybe that's worth a shot

hmm seems somewhat faster even though speedtest.net gives me the same crappy speeds but youtube videos are choppy. is it the same for you too?

youtube is pretty good for me. I go straight to youtube on the browser, not the app, not sure if that makes a difference at all. It buffers sometimes, but for the most part is pretty good

At work I have full bars with 3G as well and still have crappy service. Sometimes it's just the tower you're on.
