A rock concert video recording with PlayBook

Last Saturday, I went to see the legendary post-punk 80's band Echo & The Bunnymen in Paradiso, Amsterdam. I recorded this video of their song Killing Moon with the PlayBook at 720p, handheld. The stage was very dark - as is usual for bands from this era - but the PlayBook coped quite well with the sound.

I estimate the SPL ranged from about 92db to 100db at 15 meters from the line-arrays. The acoustics of the venue (an old church) aren't that good, and if you listen carefully you can hear the PB's auto-gain compressor working, but it's not bad for a portable device.

Wow, the sound is great! I amazed you were able to sneak a Playbook into a concert. I have a hard enough time with just a camera.

The dual mics on the Playbook are top notch, no other tablets can record live concert video or any kind of video as good as this.

That is really good considering the PB isn't an audio recording device. I am surprised it wasn't overdriven/distorted.

I don't want to step on your thread, but wanted to add another example of how good the PB's recordings sound. I have no idea who this band is but I could watch hippies all day long... Fascinating. :D
