Worldwide language input is needed !
Beta fails to auto-suggest/fill with French special characters.
I bet it'll be corrected in final release. and more languages added.
Yes, Chinese input is needed badly! It's not rocket science and it's available on all other platforms.
Hire me if you need a developer!
RIM, appoint me as sole distributor in China :)But this market easily given up by RIM totally. till today, we are not able to buy a single PB via a normal channel. there is no official distributor, no official retailer, no official store for PB. also in the forum, most compliant from the fans are 'no Chinese input, gonna sold it';'won't buy it until native Chinese input';'its not a good time for buying PB for not support our language.
first things first and first now is OS2:D:D:D
This is a hilarious thread :)
RIM,We Need Chinese Input!!!
Its in the OS, not sure why they havent put it as an option yet.
Especially if iPad doesn't, isn't the ipad (and probably most of the Playbook) made over there?
I would also like to appeal to RIM. An Asian lange JKC Input for Japanese, Korean and Chinese input is crucial. Chinese is an incredibly important world language. And one that I need to use every day.
Also, the Chinese market is huge and Blackbery has a very good reputation here.
All my friends here in Beijing still comment on the good-looks of my amazingly outdated CURVE 8320 which looks weird besided the zillions of iPhone 4s. I have to admit, I still like the CURVE 8320 myself and am loathe to retiring it.
So, please release a Chinese input IME quickly!
we really need it!!!!!!!
we need chinese input!

Yes, I will enjoy a Chinese input method...Mr. Thorstein, assemble the team to make this happen! :)

RIM,We Need Chinese Input!!![/SIZE]
i'd love to see east asian languages integrated with the PB (and my cell phone too, at that), too, but i doubt posting on this thread is really doing anything to help that.
Why don't we organize a petition like the skype one, send emails to their executives on one day globally.
like this post and see how many of you signs up?
Actually, to my great dismay back in 2008, I found that not all Blackberry phones had Chinese input. Back then, I bought a new Blackberry 8830 World Edition - thrilled with the fact it had CDMA and GSM dual band (I could use it in Canada and in China) and GPS (with GPS, I'd never get lost again). But despite being a "World Edition" it didnt' have Chinese input, and an Chinese input was never released for it. Endless searching online for a solution revealed nothing. Without Chinese input, the phone was useless to me in Beijing, I couldn't sell it (because everyone here needed Chinese input) and I gave it away to a friend in Canada. I was infuriated, but there was nothing I could do about it. Letters to RIM were ignored, and there was not really any way to contact RIM anyway. All Blackberry smartphone have the Chinese input embedded. every model no matter new or old.even ancient model. don't really under stand why Playbook missed it.
So... hopefully RIM will release a Chinese input for the Playbook (Japanese is needed too), and not leave us international users out in the cold
RIM really need's it.
Asia is one of RIM's biggest supporters!
我们需要嵌入式的中文输入法...rim加油啊!
RIM,We Need Chinese Input!!!
Ding qi lai!
自从使用了playbook后,我的英语水平提高了很多,一年顶过去5年!
感谢国家,感谢rim,感谢cctv,感谢mtv,感谢av!
Support!!!
I am both Bber and Pber for a long time, I like my bb8310 and then 9800 then PB. No official retail Channel in China and it took many effort to buy them from friends help or internet. It is a pleasure to dig every possibility.
But from my point of view, the RIM product can not compet with APPLE for sure if RIM management does not change strategy. that is another story, does not matter if RIM focus on China market or not.
yes there are so much THING need to be change and you aways have priority to balance. and yes probably RIM is in natural did not design PRODUCTIONS for normal people like Apple but geeker.
But since I am using PB right now and it is painful to navigate Chinese website without Chinese IME, I am eager to have Chinese IME ASAP. It will be definitely dispoint if there is no Chinese IME is OS2.0.
Is that too selfish?:(
