I pretty much just browse the web and check emails. Thinking of picking up the Nook Hd to replace the good old Playbook. Would this be an upgrade as far as speed is concerned?????? The Playbook is the only tab I've ever owned.

Well, one thing for sure, if you will not try other tablets, you will not know what you are missing...

You'll like it. Plus, you'll have access to Google Play.

Before you settle on the Nook...please take a look at other tablet options. There is no greater pain than settling for a device and finding that your needs have changed the day you purchase.

Well, I just grabbed one at Target for $65.00. Gonna give it a go for a couple days and see how I like it. If it's not as nice as the PB I'll just give it to the parental units.

Great price. Suppose it was the 8 GB model. Should work out well but suppose it still comes with Android 4.0.4 which is still OK for what you want to do. Memory can be upped with card. Accessories may be found at heavily discounted prices at B&N and elsewhere. And it is light compared to the Playbook which makes it a better reader especially for the parental unit maybe. Screen is higher definition also and should run Netflix and Skype.

Oh wow... great price. Hope you like it; if not, it makes a great gift to the offspring, so you win anyway.

Kinda liking the Nook Hd after spending a day with her but it's gonna take some time to make the adjustment. So far I would say that it does not have much on the Playbook besides a little more speed, lighter weight, micro sd slot and the Google Play Store. Both have really good sounding speakers and I really don't even notice the difference in screen resolution between the two. Wish I could use all my old micro USB chargers!!! It's hard to let go of the old Playbook so I'm gonna keep them both around for a while. The Nook seems like a steal at the $65.00 clearance price.
