Is there a way to recover or restore your browser history once it has been deleted?

I have a 14 year old who uses the playbook and am concerned about the history being cleared

Setup a password for the 14 years old to be safe.

I'm more concerned about damage that has already been done, if anybody can offer insight, but i will look into this for future issues

Once i noticed that inappropriate sites were visited, my child ran upstairs with the playbook and deleted the history. Therefore for my peace of mind and how to handle the matter i wanted to see the extent of the damage..

    Probably not.
Best advice is to talk to him about it to try and find out what he was up to. Also, take a look at OpenDNS; it's something you can set-up on your router which you can use to block inappropriate websites.

I think your browser history is gone, but you maybe able to find search history. One of the things about Google is that they like to track you search history.

The best thing would be to talk openly to him about it and discuss it leaving anger at the door. If he is doing it on the pb you can be sure he is doing it elsewhere also. I think all kids will when they think no one is watching or will catch them.

There is certainly no way the history could be recovered. This isn't a PC.. you can't run a simple "undelete" program on it. Consider it permanently gone.

OK, on a related matter, can you selectively delete certain items in PB's history?

^ in the browser you just go to the history and tap the pencil icon on the right hand side. Your history of sites visited will have an 'x' beside each one and you can selectively delete them.

Take a look at your home router and there may be a way to track wifi usage and restrict access to some sites. Some ISPs also offer parental tools.

Like people mentioned before me, the tech side of this is just one part, it really should include some discussion. I feel for ya, I've got a teenager that is hitting or has hit the same time in his life.
