Recompressing AVI's to save space on your playbook

I wanted to be able to recompress my avi files so I could put more on my 16gb playbook.

I found a great program - and its FREE! Available for Windows only I think.

AVI Recomp

I compress my 1/2 hour shows (which are really 20-22 minutes) to 95 mb and my 1 hour shows (really 40-44 minutes) to 190 mb. It doesn't recommend going lower than 1/2 the size of the file.

This way I can have 9-10 hours of video on my playbook and only use up 2 gigs of space. The quality is still quite good as you are only watching on a 7" screen.

Thanks. I will have to check it out - obviously, for watching a video on a flight somewhere I do not need excellent high definition. Sound stays in sync?

I had no problems and put a whole season of modern family on the playbook.
