Step 3 is the stack charging method which has been referred to in several of the preceding posts. If you stack charge advise unplugging at wall or putting on a switch to avoid beating up the usb port any more. My last and final piece of advice is to quit messing with it until you get the right charger preferably the rapid travel charger that uses the magnetic port. You are only chancing running the battery down further and making it even more difficult or impossible to get it recharged.

So you have a new charger which we haven't seen and perhaps you verified it's operation by testing on a phone. The Playbook only accepts a 1.8 amp charging rate at the USB port but 2.4 amps at the the magnetic port. So if you have a 2.1 amp charger which the PB recognizes as a device to allow 1.8 amp charging rate it is probably OK. So the rate the charger is capable of is OK and many non Playbook chargers have been reported to work or work if equipped with a charging cable that has the data wires shorted together.

There is a bit of incorrect info in that link.
When charging while turn off the led will slowly pulse green. When it is fully charged, the led will be solid green.
Once you get it going it may just boot on its own. In that case just leave it in stanby while charging. No led when charging in standby.

Thought that the five green pulses following the red should have been five yellow pulses. Again see Knowledge Base article for pretty much all info. OP good luck with your charging. At least give the seller a bad report with ebay. And the first app to get would be Battery Guru to see what shape your refurbished tablet battery is really in. If you have been stuck with a tablet with a bad battery you should return it or exercise any warranty you can. Don't know what the date on your tablet is but any refurbished tablet should have been given a 50-60% battery charge at the time of refurbishment. Did they claim FACTORY refurbishment and if so whose factory.

No. It was hopeless and was only straining what little battery life it had left. The rapid charger will have direct current to the battery so that should work. Except I wish they could hurry up lol. 1 day shipping to US 1 week international, even though Canada is right next door...
