My playbook will not side load after the 2.1 update, when you try the system blocks your android apps, i have tried every thing but to no success they have stopped it. Is there something else in the pipe line so we can use most android apps.
Blackberry apps are trash, i would never have bought blackberry if i had know about the apps. The biggest problem is kindle eBooks of amazon, side loading is the only way to get it, lets face it there is only one book club worth while, kobo is trash, half loading books some would not load so i stopped with them. Kindle is the best book club,
The shame Blackberry has a good system they are allowing greed to destroy there company, afraid of Kindle books, i want kindle books on my blackberry (the best of both worlds)
I've sideloaded multiple apps since update. same process as before. if its not workimg for you after a restart then a security wipe is needed or the bar files you are trying just don't work
I was able to side load the Android "Advanced Task Killer Free" using the Google Chrome "Play Book App Manager" extension. Works like a charm. I believe its also available for FireFox.
You Enable developer mode on the PB, open the PB App Manage ext in Chrome, put in the PB IP address and it'll prompt for the password for the Dev mode on the PB. Then it'll show you every single app loaded (native and side loaded) and you should be able to terminate, uninstall and even side-load apps from there.
